Dyngus Day is a Polish-American tradition that celebrates the end of Lent and the joy of Easter.
With the Pittsburgh area as home to thousands of Americans of Polish descent, the celebration of Dyngus Day has become a wonderful holiday to celebrate Polish-American culture, heritage and traditions.
The Inaugural Dyngus Day Dash 5K will be held Saturday, April 25, 2020 at North Park. This inaugural Dash is meant primarily to be a fun event to help promote Polish culture in the Pittsburgh area.
A secondary goal of the Dash is to be a fundraiser to support the Pittsburgh Chapter of The Kosciuszko Foundation, a not-for-profit Foundation whose mission is to foster among Americans of Polish ancestry a deeper understanding of their cultural heritage.
