The North Allegheny School District has hired a company to conduct a search for its next superintendent.
The school board voted unanimously April 22 on a contract to hire McPherson & Jacobson LLC of Omaha, Neb., to find a replacement for Superintendent Robert Scherrer, who took a job leading the Allegheny Intermediate Unit.
Scherrer is expected to begin the new job in late July.
The contact with McPherson & Jacobson is for $19,900 with a total, including expenses, not to exceed $29,900.
NA hired Scherrer as superintendent in April 2016 after he served a six-month stint as acting superintendent.
