McCandless hosting panel discussion on causes, solutions to flooding

McCandless will play host to a panel of experts Feb. 5 who will discuss problems with flooding in the community and ways to reduce their impact on property.
The topics to be covered during the one-hour program scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. are
• Stream dynamics
• What you can do at home
• Local watershed groups and getting involved
A half hour question-and-answer session will follow at 8 p.m.
The program is sponsored by the McCandless Environmental Advisory Committee and Northland Public Library in partnership with Girty’s Run Watershed Association and the Allegheny County Conservation District.
