The headache-inducing road-repair project that has snarled traffic at the busy intersection of Babcock Boulevard and Peoples Road in Ross Township since late June is complete.
PennDOT announced Friday that the intersection’s original configuration has been restored and reopened to traffic.
The posted detour for trucks will continue while the final touches of the project are completed.
Short-term daylight restrictions also will occur weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. through Dec. 18 while the relocation of utility lines is completed. Flaggers will assist motorists through the work zone.
Crews have completed the excavation and replacement of the culvert under the sidewalk of Peoples and Babcock and the roadway, including the lane from Peoples to eastbound Babcock, has been resurfaced.
The temporary signal used to control the vehicle during construction also has been removed.
